Biking + Roller Derby = Awesome Weekend!

Saturday my Dad, Paul, and myself met up with some riders in Lincoln and took part in a bike ride that they had put on. This bike ride was 85 miles long, but we only decided to do about 16 miles of it...

and you can clearly see why as we were left in the dust from the first couple miles out.

I have to admit I was very impressed with these trails, I wasn't even aware that this trail even existed in Lincoln, and how nice they have been able to maintain these trails as well.

With the help of my GPS we were able stay on track!

Paul later had to head out to play music, and then my Dad and I headed out to search for Wilderness Park...

which lead to some interesting bridges that I've never seen before while riding around Wilderness Park. This bridge looks like railroad tracks...

while this bridge was a bit more spook because you couldn't exactly tell how stable this thing was.

This was overall a great day for a bike ride, especially in Wilderness Park, where we were out of the strong wind, and into the wilderness ready to explore!

That evening we headed to Pershing Event Center to watch our Aunt along with her team compete in what's called "Roller Derby". I wasn't quite sure what it was, or what to expect but after finally figuring out what the objective of the game is, it was quite entertaining to watch.

This was the second game which was the more experienced teams, and this team was able to win by over 50 points!

This weekend was overall a great way to spend time. Getting close to 30 miles in while at the same time being able to avoid busy roads, and then being able to sit back and watch some roller derby.
